The same corridor as Courchevel up to Moûtiers — A40, A41 past Annecy, A43, N90 through the Tarentaise — then a turn via Brides-les-Bains and the D90 up the Allues valley to Méribel Centre, Méribel-Mottaret or Le Belvédère. 145 kilometres, 2h15. The Allues road is wider and less winding than the Courchevel climb, which makes it easier on children prone to travel sickness.
During the ski season, traffic shared with the other Tarentaise resorts is the first factor to watch on the approach to Moûtiers. Beyond Brides-les-Bains, the climb on the D90 requires a pace suited to the snow, even though the Allues road is less winding than the Courchevel ascent.
